Grip Gun (Pistol)Weapon

Hugh's starting sidearm. Six-round capacity with automatic ammo recharge over time. The only weapon with infinite durability -- it never permanently breaks. Your fallback when all other weapons are depleted. Has a heat buildup system; overheat causes a brief cooldown before firing again.

primary

Charge Rifle (Automatic Rifle)Weapon

A more powerful primary weapon unlocked later in the game. Higher sustained fire rate than the Grip Gun but with stronger recoil and its own heat buildup system. Becomes your primary damage dealer once unlocked. Has infinite durability like the Grip Gun.

primary

Shockwave BlasterWeapon

Close-range burst weapon that deals massive AoE damage and staggers enemies. Particularly effective against clustered groups of enemies. Also known as the Shockwave Gun or Impact Blaster in some sources. Devastatingly effective when hitting exposed weak points after a successful hack. Breaks permanently when ammo runs out -- must be picked up from the battlefield. (GamingBolt, Capcom official video, April 16 2026)

attack

Charge PiercerWeapon

Rapid-fire energy rifle with sustained output at long range. Each shot pierces through multiple targets in a straight line -- ideal for tearing through lined-up bots with a single burst. Higher ammo capacity than the Shockwave Blaster. Breaks permanently when ammo runs out. (GamingBolt, Capcom official video, April 16 2026)

attack

Grenade LauncherWeapon

Explosive projectile weapon that excels at clearing groups of enemies. Area-of-effect damage makes it highly effective when multiple enemies are clustered together. Breaks permanently when depleted.

attack

Homing MissilesWeapon

Lock-on missile weapon that tracks enemies even when they are dodging or airborne. Particularly effective against fast-moving aerial units. Breaks permanently when depleted.

attack

Stasis NetWeapon

Fires a net that temporarily immobilizes enemies, buying time to complete a hack, set up a follow-up shot, or reposition. Confirmed by IGN as a key tactical tool. Breaks permanently when depleted.

tactical

Decoy Gun (Decoy Generator)Weapon

Deploys a holographic decoy that draws enemy attention, giving Diana a safe window to complete long hack sequences without being disrupted.

defense

Riot BlasterWeapon

Rapid-fire suppression weapon that disrupts enemy targeting systems and provides area denial in dense indoor combat. Breaks permanently when ammo runs out.

tactical

Area 1 Boss -- Sector Guard ProtocolBoss

Phase 1: Crowd control phase -- defend position while haywire bots and drones attack.

Chapter 1

Area 2 Boss -- The SentinelBoss

Core mechanic: Hugh must draw the boss's fire while Diana hacks multiple terminals around the arena.

Chapter 2

Area 3 Boss -- Forest GuardianBoss

Boss uses the forest environment -- climbable trees and vertical space are key.

Chapter 3

Area 4 Boss -- The WeaverBoss

Core mechanic: The boss creates multiple identical clones. Only the real one takes damage.

Chapter 4

IDUS -- Final BossBoss

Multi-stage fight combining platforming, hacking, and precision shooting. (IGN, April 2026)

Chapter 5

Standard Combat BotEnemy

The most common enemy in the facility. Basic armored robots that patrol and engage on sight. Vulnerable to Diana's hacking once engaged.

Standard

Heavy Armored BotEnemy

Thick-plated robots that shrug off standard gunfire. Requires sustained hacking and heavier weapons to bring down.

Heavy

Aerial DroneEnemy

Fast-moving flying units that attack from above. Hard to hit with standard aim -- best dealt with using homing weapons or Diana's hacking.

Aerial

Shielded BotEnemy

Enemy bots equipped with an energy barrier that blocks all hacking while active. Cannot be hacked until the shield is destroyed.

Shielded

Ranged Artillery BotEnemy

Bots that attack from distance with projectiles or tracking weapons. Dangerous when multiple other enemies are present.

Ranged

Elite Guard BotEnemy

High-threat bipedal mechs that appear in later biomes. More durable and aggressive than standard heavy bots.

Heavy Elite

hidden

Basic HackHacking

Navigate Diana's hacking cursor from the start node to the green goal node. The more blue nodes you route through before reaching the goal, the longer the enemy stays vulnerable AND the higher damage Hugh deals during that window. Shooting without hacking first barely scratches enemies. When the hack completes, specific body parts of the enemy physically open up -- power packs on humanoid AIs, exposed cores on mechanoids -- creating the weak point Hugh must target. Skilled players can even complete hacks while airborne using Hugh's jet thrusters. (AltChar review: "Shooting without hacking first barely scratches them." + MP1st review, April 2026)

basic

Hacking Node (Yellow)Hacking

Special nodes on the hacking grid that trigger powerful bonus effects. Confirmed effects: Defense Down (enemy takes much more damage), Multi-Target (hack spreads to nearby enemies), Confusion (enemies attack each other), Missile Hack (reflects incoming missiles back at sender), Stun (temporarily stuns the enemy), Heat Generation (generates heat to expose enemy for finishing move). (AltChar review + GamesRadar + IGN, April 2026)

node

Overdrive ProtocolHacking

Diana's ultimate ability. Triggers a massive area hack that affects all enemies simultaneously. Gauge fills by defeating enemies. Confirmed by multiple reviewers as the most powerful tool in the game.

ultimate

Environmental HackHacking

Diana can interact with facility systems -- doors, terminals, traps, and Escape Hatches -- to unlock paths, trigger environmental hazards, and set checkpoints.

environmental

Auto-Hack (Accessibility Option)Hacking

An equippable option that automatically completes the hacking grid puzzle, letting players focus entirely on shooting and positioning instead of managing both at once. Described by AltChar as "a thoughtful inclusion" for players who find the dual-tasking overwhelming.

3D Printer / Equipment UpgradeShelter

Customize loadout, print weapons using blueprints, and upgrade weapon stats using collected resources: lunafilament (weapons), pure lunum (high-tier upgrades), upgrade components (firmware -- suit toughness, hacking damage), and data shards. Suit health is also restored here before heading out.

Shelter

Hacking Mods (Equippable Grid Abilities)Shelter

Equippable mods that activate when Diana routes through specific nodes on the hacking grid. Confirmed effects include: stunning enemies, generating heat to expose them for a finishing move, and turning enemies against each other. Additional passive mods provide bonuses such as extra health, extended hack duration, or increased damage at the cost of health. Mods are found during exploration and unlocked progressively -- builds that lean toward hacking or toward shooting become viable once enough mods are acquired.

Shelter

Mission Prep AreaShelter

The Shelter's loadout configuration area. Before heading into a sector, this is where you set your weapon loadout, equip mods, and select which sector to explore next. After dying, you must return through Mission Prep to reload back into your last checkpoint.

Shelter

Death & Respawn SystemShelter

When Hugh dies, the game does NOT return you to the nearest checkpoint. Instead, it sends you back to the Shelter, requiring you to go to the Mission Prep area and manually reload back into the last checkpoint. This is a notable quality-of-life consideration especially in boss fights.

Shelter

Cabin (Support Robot)Shelter

A friendly independent support robot stationed in the Shelter. Provides tactical hints, manages the 5 Bingo Sheets, and exchanges Cabin Coins for stamps. Stamps fill Bingo Sheet squares -- get a bingo, triple bingo, or full blackout for increasingly valuable rewards including new outfits for Hugh and Diana, and Bot Database entries.

Shelter

5 Bingo SheetsShelter

Five separate Bingo Sheets managed through Cabin. Fill squares by completing in-game challenges. Rewards scale by completion tier: single bingo (small reward), triple bingo (medium), full blackout (best). Rewards include new outfits for Hugh and Diana, and Bot Database data entries.

Shelter

REM (Read Earth Memories)Shelter

3D-printed toys and Earth entertainment items hidden throughout all five biomes. Objects and scenes from Earth: camping spots, beaches, playground equipment for Diana to use. Gifted to Diana at the Shelter to help her learn about human children's lives on Earth. Each gift unlocks new dialogue and builds the Hugh-Diana relationship. Diana will occasionally draw pictures as a thank-you. Cabin Coins are awarded when gifting Diana REMs. (AltChar review + GamesRadar review, April 2026)

Shelter

Escape HatchesShelter

Checkpoint network throughout the facility. Each hatch must be activated by having Diana hack it. Once active, they serve as checkpoints AND fast-travel points back to the Shelter. Note: death does not return you to the nearest escape hatch automatically -- you return to the Shelter and must re-enter via Mission Prep.

Shelter

Red Gate Challenge ArenasShelter

Locked combat arenas accessed with Red Gate Keys. Contain challenging encounters with high-value loot rewards. Keys are a confirmed currency in the game (GamesRadar).

Shelter

Simulation MissionsShelter

Optional training missions at the Shelter. Preview offensive techniques and enemy quirks before facing them in the main biomes. Also a source of Cabin Coins when completed with specific winning conditions (GamesRadar + IGN confirmed).

Shelter

Diana Shelter InteractionShelter

Talk to Diana between missions to build the story relationship and unlock new dialogue. Diana will eventually challenge Hugh to hide-and-seek, and draws pictures as thank-you gifts for REMs. The hub gradually fills with playground equipment, balloons, and little touches of Earth -- Eurogamer describes the Shelter's growing signs of life (skateboards, basketballs, toys) as one of the game's highlights. AltChar notes the moment Diana gives a drawing in return for REMs as genuinely moving. (AltChar review + Eurogamer review, April 2026)

Shelter

Healing Pods (Medkits)Shelter

Hugh can only restore health using special healing pods found throughout The Cradle. These pods have a limited charge and must be recharged each time you return to the Shelter. Unlike typical FPS games, health does NOT regenerate passively -- every point of health lost requires a pod to restore. (MP1st review, April 2026)

Shelter

Enemy Reset (Soulslike Mechanic)Shelter

When you return to the Shelter via the tram system, all enemies in previously visited sectors are fully reset and respawn. This is a deliberate Soulslike-style design choice. On the positive side: enemies respawning means farming upgrade materials is always possible. On the negative side: backtracking into cleared biomes will require fighting through enemies again. (MP1st review, April 2026)

Shelter

Hugh WilliamsCharacter

An astronaut engineer working for the Delphi Corporation, sent to the moon with his crew to investigate a large mining base that has gone dark. The base extracts a special lunar ore called Lunum -- a material so versatile it can be used to print almost anything: machines, robots, androids, entire cities and forests. When a seismic event kills his crew and the facility is taken over by a rogue AI named IDUS, Hugh finds himself the lone survivor -- forming an unlikely partnership with a child-like android named Diana who latches onto the back of his spacesuit. He grows increasingly protective of Diana as the story unfolds, with the two developing a genuine father-daughter dynamic. (AltChar review + GamesRadar review, April 2026)

Protagonist

DianaCharacter

A fully conscious child-like android Hugh encounters at the facility. Her official designation is D-I-0336-7 -- Diana is the nickname Hugh gives her, shared with the Roman goddess of the moon. She was inexplicably created with the likeness of a seven-year-old girl, complete with platinum waist-length hair. She is a prototype of something called a "Pragmata." She saves Hugh from certain death early in the story, then latches onto the back of his spacesuit and becomes his inseparable hacking partner. Diana possesses exceptional hacking abilities -- the only way to expose enemy weak points for Hugh to attack. Far from a helpless companion, Diana is a powerful and essential part of the duo in every sense. As an android, she has no frame of reference for things Hugh takes for granted: death, family, and sharing a meal. Her curiosity and warmth create small philosophical moments that deepen the story throughout. (AltChar review + GamesRadar review + Eurogamer review + official Capcom site + MP1st review, April 2026)

Android Companion / Hacking Specialist

IDUSCharacter

The artificial intelligence system controlling The Cradle's automated defenses. After going rogue, IDUS turns the facility's own systems against Hugh and Diana, sending waves of enemy bots to stop them. IDUS appears late in the story but drives the central conflict throughout. Reviewers note the villain's late arrival means its impact is somewhat limited -- but the ending delivers on the narrative setup. (AltChar review + Game8 review, April 2026)

Antagonist AI

CabinCharacter

A small, friendly support robot stationed in the Shelter hub. Cabin provides Hugh and Diana with information, tactical support, and manages the Bingo Sheet challenge board. Talking to Cabin regularly unlocks new dialogue and Cabin Coins -- the currency used to claim Bingo Sheet rewards including outfit unlocks. New dialogue unlocks after each biome. (AltChar review + GamesRadar review, April 2026)
